Download U.S. Churches Database The Independent Fundamentalist, which may also be known as the Independent Fundamentalist Baptist, are churches that have beliefs that are connected to the Baptist denomination. Like many Baptist groups, Independent Fundamentalists are not controlled by any denomination. The reason why the term "Independent" is used to describe them is because they have practices and procedures which are distinct from other Baptist groups, and many Independent Fundamentalists are not members of any Baptist organizations. However, it should be noted that there are a number of Independent Fundamentalists that are members of fellowships. As the name suggests, Independent Fundamentalists act independently. As can be expected, their style of teaching is fundamentalist in nature.

It should be noted that Independent Fundamentalists are not considered to be a denomination. However, there are many things that Independent Fundamentalist churches will have in common. The term "Independent Fundamentalist" was first coined during the 19th century, when many Baptist churches became more liberal in their practices and teachings. Many Christian groups felt that the Independent Fundamentalists were weak because they did not place an emphasis on the full authority of the Bible, as well as the nature of God. While various Independent Fundamentalist churches will have practices and teachings which are distinct, there are a number of things that they will have in common. Many of these churches process Bible translations via the Textus Receptus or the Masoretic.

The reason why Independent Fundamentalist Churches do this is because they feel that recent Bible translations have a number of errors that may cause them to be interpreted incorrectly. When it comes to their belief system, Independent Fundamentalist churches are quite conservative. They are quick to reject many of the concepts that are taught in various Christian denominations. The reason for this is because they feel that many denominational churches focus on wordly affairs rather than issues that are truly important. For example, members of many Independent Fundamentalist churches reject the use of modern Christian music or Rock. They do not believe in women wearing pants, and they are strongly against men who wear their hair long.

Like many Christian denominations, Independent Fundamentalists are against smoking cigarettes, the consumption of alcohol, and pre-marital sex. Many Independent Fundamentalists in the United States are conservatives when it comes to politics, but they are also against government regulation of schools. The outreach program of many Independent Fundamentalist churches is highly detailed. The members will work hard to bring people from the surrounding community into the church. There are some Independent Fundamentalist who will still preach in the streets. When it comes to education, Independent Fundamentalists have a great deal of control over what they learn. Many of these churches will establish and maintain their own colleges. However, many of these colleges are not accredited and use an apprentice based system.

During the 1990s, a number of scandals were uncovered which involved Independent Fundamentalist churches. Many of these scandals involved improper conduct on the part of pastors as well as deacons. Many Independent Fundamentalist churches are now using the Internet as an important communications vehicle.
